Software localisation is more than just the linguistic adaptation of software to a foreign market. In addition to the user interface with its menus, buttons, dialogue boxes and message texts, online help, documentation, accompanying files, license agreements or advertising and packaging texts also need to be localised. In light of the wide variety of development environments and file formats, you should leave the localisation of your software solutions to a service provider who is familiar with them. Our t’works specialists have been a reliable partner to international software companies for many years and handle projects running into several million words.
The results of our high-quality work can be found in numerous products from well-known software manufacturers.
In localisation, software interfaces (HMI, UI), online help and apps are translated consistently and checked for compliance with customer-specific specifications (style guide), consistency and glossary/terminology using appropriate tools. Adapting software to new target markets is a combination of the most diverse processes:
It is possible to release a whole website or integrated article for translation into the desired target languages using automated CMS translation. The prerequisite is a content management system that has the appropriate XML or XLIFF interfaces (e.g. Typo3, Magento). Translation packages created in the COTI standard can also be processed without any problems (COTI = COmmon Translation Interface).
Spoken audio sequences, text and graphic inserts in films and training videos, product demos, interactive training software, interviews, image films or e-learning products are not only translated by us, but also adapted on request. We use voice-over to dub foreign-language sequences and record audio and language elements in recording studios with speakers for a target country. In the on-screen process we create subtitles or maintain screen and video texts or graphics.
Numerous prominent customers rely on our experience, technical expertise and the necessary intuition for software & IT translations.
