Computer-aided translation: Translation Memory (CAT)

A database full of translations
Translation memory (TM) systems belong to the category of CAT tools. These systems are the basis for computer-aided translation. They act as a memory of source language texts: the texts are stored on a sentence basis in segments with existing translations. Additional functions such as terminology or alignments support the translator in their work.
